do i have to download drivers for windows xp?

Wow.
If you have Mac OS X 10.5 or 10.6 (Leopard or Snow Leopard), you just put in the Installation/Restore/Upgrade DVD you used to install Mac OS X, and Windows will recognize Windows compatible files, which will allow you to install those drivers.
(It's the same in Windows XP.)
All this information is easily found by looking for it via a search engine.
