Do I have to use iMovie to share a video on MobileMe?

I'm curious to know if I need to use iMovie to load a movie clip to MobileMe?

If I have imported video from my camcorder to my MBP can I just upload these videos directly to mobileme or do they need to be prepped through iMovie?
