Do I need a case?

I don't use a case for my 3GS. Once in a while it falls out of my pocket and gets some minor scratches but it's never broken. Now that I'm getting the 4S, do you think I should get a case? It just looks so sexy naked, plus it's a hassle to take the case off every night before I put it in my iHome.

What about a bumper? Does it provide "enough" protection?

The bumper "might" do the trick. It will depend on how high the phone was dropped from and what its hitting (carpet, tile, concrete...) and what part of the phone is making contact.

Personally, I like to have a case on my iP4. I didn't have a case for the 3Gs but the fear of replacing the glass has convinced me to put it in a case. I didn't use the bumper because the car charger I have (a griffin) is too wide for it.

I would get a case. I had my i4 since release until two weeks ago with only a bumper and I had a shallow scratch on the front and a few on the back. I take care of my electronics but scratches are inevitable with this design unless you use protection.

I have my case and screen protectors ready for the 4S
