I live in the US and I'm traveling overseas to South Africa and I need to know if I need a converter, an adapter or both. If it matters I have a late 2008 Aluminum Macbook.

Thanks

All recent Macs have ability to handle different voltages/frequencies. All you need is a plug adapter. Apple has them, but probably overpriced. On the charger you just attach a different cable or plug to the charger.
