Do I need a Mac to jb and unlock 4.2.1?

I have been looking around to try and jb and unlock my 3GS on 4.2.1. I know I need to go to 6.15 baseband and that I will lose my gps, however, I heard that greenpoison has a untethered jailbreak that I would like to use but can't since it won't let me or allow me to update the baseband.

I read somewhere that you need a Mac to jb and unlock 4.2.1 and be untethered.

I am willing to paypal money if anyone can help do this using pc.

You can do this on a Windows PC in two steps:
- JB and unlock (iPad baseband) with Redsn0w
- reJB with GreenPois0n to have it untethered

I can't seem to find the exact tutorial for what you have mentioned can you please help me out here?

I read through the guide, and redsn0w does not give me an option to upgrade the baseband to iPad's baseband. Any idea?

It should be on the second page after you upload the ipsw. You have to check the box.
