My two year old White Macbook wouldn't charge for about a day. It would charge on and off every thirty seconds, and it kept on dying. And then it died, and it won't charge. When I press the battery indicator on the bottom, none of the green lights appear. I took my battery out and put it back in, but it still didn't charge.

I looked online it says a new battery is about $140. Do I just buy that and put it in my Macbook, or do I have to do something else? I don't have an Apple store anywhere near me (I live in this deserted mountain town!) and I don't have a warranty.

Thank you!

You can buy one at the apple store for $20 cheaper, I believe it's 120 USD
or possibly $100...
You probably do need a replacement of battery... how long have you used that battery?

I have a 28Mo. Old macbook and it only has 200 battery cycles.
go download Coconut battery i believe that's what it's called, and check it out.
