I have an older iMac and keyboard and I'm getting a new Mac Mini and a new keyboard. The problem is, I have an extension cable running from a under the desk to connect the keyboard to the computer. Will this cable allow me to get 2.0 speed from the keyboard ports or do I have to buy a new extension cable?

Also, do other brands of keyboards and mice work with Macs without any issues?

Thanks.

Depends on how much older the 'older' iMac is.

To get the best speed from devices plugged into the keyboard ports, I'd pick up a new extension just to be safe.
