General Do I need an internet connection to jailbreak?

I want to jailbreak my friends phone and we are meeting at a place with no internet connection. If I have the software downloaded to my laptop, will it work without being connected to the internet?

I can attest from personal experience that you do not need one - except to download the evasion zip file in the first place!
