I have a dilema. I am an Apple fanatic,(isn't everyone on here) and I have a Verizon iPhone and an iMac. I fully intend to sell my iMac for either a Basic MacBook or a MacBook Pro 13 or 15 incher this summer. (around August) So, the question is do I need an iPad? Do people with all three devices find them all useful for their own unique tasks? Do you favor one over another? Should I go with the iPad 2 or iPad (1)? I would buy the 16 GB WiFi Only model as I can tether from my iPhone via TetherMe. Thanks in advance. :apple::apple:

No one needs an iPad.

Is there a use for them while having an iPhone and a Macbook?

Obviously, you don't need one. If you like it and have the cash, buy it. If either of those things isn't true, then don't.
I don't know if I like it. I love my iPhone and iMac though, so I assume I would love it. I've played around with the original iPad at the Apple Stores. And I have a decent amount of cash floating about. (Super late Christmas gift from all those checks? :) )

if you have to ask, then you don't need one.

I don't need one, I have an iMac, MacBook Pro and an iPhone 4. I just choose to also own an iPad.

you dont really know how useful it is til you have one. I have a Macbook Pro 13 (mainly used for school work), mac mini HTPC, used to have iphone4 used when i didnt have my iPad on me, and my ipad that i use when traveling, an amazing plane buddy, web browsing on the couch while my wife watches something i dont want to watch, its just soo much easier to travel with than my macbook pro and it passes the time great on roadtrips cause the battery lasts 10hrs.. everyone i bring it around is envious and eventually buys one themselves

I dont even need one..

In fact, I honestly dont even need my iPhone..

I just want them lol

The answer you hope to hear: No one really needs clothes or a toothbrush, but we have them.

^ The real answer.

My answer was real as well.

I use mine on the couch instead of my MBP. My MBP is pretty much a desktop machine now, with the convenience of portability- it's hooked up to a 24" monitor as well as a MM and Apple Bluetooth keyboard.

The iPad is also very useful when traveling.

But I'll reiterate: No one needs an iPad.

I'll be on the subway frequently this year so an iPad is definitely something I'll use. However if I lived in a rural area and stayed mostly at home I feel my MBP would suffice.

I don't understand why someone would have both an iPhone and iPad, but that's just me since I can't throw around money like that. If money isn't an issue, I don't see a problem with it. People blow their money on less useful things (i.e. expensive bags, clothes, etc.).

Because the iPhone fits in my pocket, and the iPad fits on my couch. I'd rather use a larger screen if I could. Oh, and money wasn't an issue.
