I am running out of HDD space and need to delete some big apps I never use, such as iDVD. I will probably never use it to make my own movie and I have Burn if I want to burn a DVD from an .avi file (or other digital compressed file). But if I delete iDVD will it affect the codecs I have or playback, or anything like that? Thank you!

You can always reinstall any iLife apps with the install DVDs so if you need it later, don't worry ;)

I have a Macbook that doesn't have a SuperDrive, so I figured I wouldn't need it. Freed up quite a bit of space. Don't forget to delete the files in the Library, as they're the one's that take up the most room. :)

I have the SuperDrive but since I have Burn installed I can use that instead, as long as Burn doesn't rely on iDVD for anything.

To uninstall I will use AppZapper or something of the sort to get at those library files.

Thanks, I can really use this extra 1 GB of space on my little 60 GB HDD
