ordered a new battery for my 2014 macbook air 13 inch as the current battery is dead wont have a charge at all do i need to calibrate the battery or no? i know older macs needed calibration

Calibration doesn’t actually apply to the battery, it’s the battery charge level sensors that get calibrated. So the battery won’t care or be affected at all if you fail to calibrate, but the Mac might not show accurate charge levels.
