Do I need to reset SMC after uninstall of Fan Control 1.2 to MBP 15 2015

As title says, I have uninstalled Fan Control 1.2 (quite old app) from instructions here:

I installed to control the M370X 2048 MB, since it seemed to come on a bit... but meant to install Macs Fan Control - muddled up the names. See:

I have now done the uninstall of the former and installed the latter, the correct App. However, do I still need to do a SMC reboot? I have read this can be damaging...

Resetting the SMC will not damage your computer, its innocuous, if you find your computer working as expected after the uninstall, there's no need to reset it. If you however the fans are not working then reset it.
