Do I need to upgrade my MB or buy Hardware?

I am wanting to hookup a projector and open a video or projector file on the projector while still having the ability to use my MB monitor. Is this possible or would I need some sort of dual feed graphics card?

Depending on the inputs of the projector, you need either Mini-DVI to DVI or Mini-DVI to VGA adapter
