Just registered. I am really eager to know if this is true. Can someone tell?

I want to have dedicated graphics. But I don't want to spend $600 more. 8GB/256GB is good enough for me.

No you do not get the 750m if you upgrade the CPU on the base model.

The 750m only comes with the higher end model as indicated by every purchase page on Apples website.

It's like Quu and AlecMyrddyn said, NO. (Gf has a 2.6/16/512 without GT750M). You only get the discrete GPU if you take the high end NOT the base model (even if you choose a better processor, more ram etc on the base model you only get Iris Pro)

I think folks are reporting that the battery life is worse (shorter) with the dGPU than the Iris Pro which might be a consideration.

I would imagine that's right, as after a week of owning it - the battery life on mine is shorter than advertised.
