I've got a webcal format calendar which I have as a subscription in my iCal, set to auto-refresh every hour. I don't open iCal all that often, though, since I usually view my calendar on my iPhone (to which iCal syncs). Will iCal auto-refresh the subscription even when it's closed, or do I have to open iCal to do that?
Similarly, does the subscription "live" on my iPhone too, so it will auto-refresh there, or does all the auto-refreshing happen on the iCal side and just the results get synced to the iPhone?
The reason I ask is because there are a lot of academic talks, etc., on this calendar with titles like "TBD" which can get updated very close to the date of the event.
