Hello, some of the earlier MBP (pre-2010) had keys that got scratched easily by fingernails. I could see thin lines on the surface of the keys if no keyboard cover was used. The 2010 MBP 17" has no such problem. How about the 2017 and 2018's?

I’ve never seen that on any. They show oil from fingerprints badly though. That’s pretty much the only thing that will show wear no matter how well you treat your computer.

I agree. I have had my 2016 MacBook for about a year and a half, and the keys don't show any wear. They do get rather oily though, so I usually clean it off about once a week.
