Hello users, would like to know if latest Apple watches like Series 6 and SE support wireless charging, and if they do, is it standard or not? For example Qi used to charge Samsung Galaxy phones could be used to charge the Apple Watch or is it Apple-only?

I ask this question since don't want to carry with me the proprietary Apple charger for the iWatch, battery doesn't last long.

I think there's a slight communication breakdown here.

You can only charge the watch with wireless charging... there is no port on the device. But it requires a special type of charger and you need a device w/ that type of 'puck' to do so.

I want to know about Qi, the regular one that can charge the iPhones. I mean if it's mandatory to have the proprietary cable which only suits the iWatch.

Thank you, the "wireless" charging thing was a little bit misleading. I know you love your watches and all of that, but I try to keep it as neutral as possible.

it charges wirelessly. But you need a charging cable to charge. But the watch doesnt come with a charger.
you have to have your own charger.
Awesome....

my toothbrush has its own charging cable as well.
my shaver does also.
my tesla does too.

It does come with a charging cable. No initial “but” about it.

I for one had zero need for “yet another” 5w block - I’ve got more of them than I know what to do with.

I never even take mine out of the boxes. I have a lot of cords and earbuds in still in their boxes too. My Watch puck is still in the box too. I always prefer 3rd party options better.

As long as you make sure to put Apple certified third party, you should be fine.

Most definitely. I check the MFI site. Satechi makes a lot of gear for  devices. This is my favorite way to charge. It’s the most convenient way for me since I’m disabled and I only use 10ft cables because they reach to my bed with slack. This is my travel charger.
