While reviewing the 10.15.4 long thread of 10.15.4 stopping external docks and monitors from working over at apple communities I came across this item.

Any idea's why this would be correct? Although I have not moved from 10.15.1, I do charge from the left and frequent am getting fans starting. I'm going to try charging from the right next week while in iso and see what happens.

Saw this referenced for the first time today on Lifehacker. I'm still running a 2017 Mac Air w/MagSafe, so not an issue for me, but this article and the Forum it references suggest otherwise for the Pro -

Thats a lot of detail and troubleshooting in the stackexchange article behind all of this. From today I'll be plugging in from the right to see if there is any difference.

Thats what I meant....I have noticed that quite frequently the fans being on when my mbp is doing very little. Will be interesting to see if swapping side does make any changes.

Tried this today and I can honestly say i don't think it made any difference. The thunderbolt temperature increases no matter which side you connect t to charge from. I think maybe the left hand temperature is slight less than the right hand side for my machine.
