As far as I can see, there is no reason why any calls should get through? Is there anything on these settings that would say why?

I have people 'None allowed', and nobody in 'Allowed people' but had a call from someone in my favourites, despite 'Do Not Disturb' being ON.
Can anyone tell me why they got through? They did call twice in 3 minutes, but 'Allow repeated calls' is also turned off at the bottom.
Any help greatly appreciated, after only 2 hours sleep last night.

Your settings look correct, but it doesn’t look like you have Do Not Disturb actually turned on. When it’s on you will see a little moon icon next to your clock in the top left.

To turn it on open control center then change the Focus to Do Not Disturb to enable it.

Yeh, I know, that grab was this morning after I turned it off, but I do turn it on every night.
And those settings are as they always are. I don't get it

Have you tried the old restart trick? Sometimes I get intermittent glitches with my automations, and restarting the phones restores them.

I haven't no, but I only restarted it yesterday, and I also downloaded the new 18.7 yesterday, so I wonder if it's just a coincidence? It happened once before this, years ago, but those settings above sorted it, until now. And that was also someone in my favourites. Still wondering whether to go iOS 26? It ruined my whole day I was so tired... woken after only 2 hours, so would be good to find out why

Technology is a fickle mistress, she is also a magnet for frustrating bugs.
Wise words!!!!

Everything googled says it shouldn't ring, even the 2/3 minute ring back is off, but still got through.
It winds me up when I can't work this stuff out! Hence why I'm on here now at 2.43am despite no sleep last night,
Tech eh.....

Did you check Emergency Bypass status for that contact? As pointed out under Allowed Calls, Emergency Bypass contacts will get through.

Contacts > [person] > Ringtone > Emergency Bypass

Was phone locked at the time? If not, Focus > Options > Silence Notifications > Always

Maybe try setting up your own “do not disturb” focus mode.
That definitely sounds like something I'd mess up more than the standard 'DND' option..

Thank you, yes I did actually do that, after some searching last night, checked the Emergency Bypass.
Yes its always locked, and that is on 'Always'. I used to turn off before bed, but I now try to listen to podcasts to help sleep, with timer off after 30 mins, but it does remain locked.

You could try one of the other built in focus modes.

To set up your own:
Settings>Focus>Add Focus>Custom>Name Focus>Customize Focus> Once you get to the customized focus page, add nothing. Then just turn it on.

Is share across devices turned on? Could be, if it is turned on, another device isn’t as strict.

Is share across devices turned on?

This caused problems in the early days of Focuses for me. Was seeing iPad Focus turn on and then randomly turn off (minutes, hours, immediately). As suggested, setup a dedicated iPad Focus that turns off/on on a schedule so that phone Focuses are not affecting other devices (aka turned off "Share Across Devices").

Thank you both for this, I will give this a go. My iPad Air I turn off every night, and that's really the only other device linked to it, for example, I have never set up Airpods on iPad, and they show battery for them when they're not even anywhere remotely near and closed case upstairs, and the bluetooth is off, I never really got that. So its more linked than they should be. And my MBP is old and not compatible. Haptics/vibrate from what I read unless off, can still play with DND? Or how I read it anyway. Thanks again
