Do Not Disturb While Driving won't work "Automatically"

I have an iPhone 6s running iOS 11.0.1, it is paired with my Philips Bluetooth head unit in my car, but when I activate 'Do not Disturb while Driving' using the 'When Connected to Car Bluetooth' option, it does not go into DNDWD mode at all. It also never marks the location of my vehicle in the Maps app which was a feature introduced in iOS 10, so I presume that Apple just doesn't see my head unit as a car Bluetooth device for some reason.

Anyone know any solutions to fixing this?
