Do Not Have Sufficient Access Privileges error after SCP

Hi

In Terminal, I backed up my server straight to the desktop of my Mac with

localhost:desktop henk$ scp -r (server name):/backup/08-09-09

The files were nicely transferred to desktop and I was able to read them. But after a restart I got the well documented Do Not Have Sufficient Access Privileges Error when opening the 08-09-09 directory on the desktop. I tried to enable a root user, but with no effect.

Any suggestions?

PS I also tried to repair permissions with no effect.

Have you examined the permissions of the file, both from the Get Info window as well as from Terminal using "ls -l" on the directory? There may be some clues there.
