do not receive the new mms notification?

a couple of my friends get a message saying "I sent you a multimedia message. You can view my message via the internet at viewmymessage.com" when someone sends them an mms why dont i get this message also? im using att on a jailbroken 2.1 firmware, since swirly mms doesnt work with att id atleast like to be able to know when somebody has sent me something
