iPod touch Do notes sync over from mail?

Does anyone know whether the new notes application on the touch syncs with the notes in mail? It doesn't say anything on Apple's site, that's why I am wondering.
Don't really want to shell out $20 if this isn't working.

It still doesn't sync with Mail, not sure why, but perhaps because then they'd need to find something on the Windows side to sync with.
