Do rented movies automatically delete themselves?

I'm leaving for a trip on Tuesday and I'll be away for an entire month. I'll have access to Wifi so I'm planning on taking my iPad. I would rent movie pretty often through iTunes and I'm afraid my iPads memory would fill up. I need to know If rented movies automatically delete themselves after the 48 hour period or if I have to plug it into a computer for them to be removed?

I believe so.

If not, the iPad (along with any other iOS-based product) will prompt you to delete the movie after you watch it.

Yes it does, it will even give you a notification that says "X movie/show has expired."
