I was just wondering that iPhone Apps with Retina Display support scale up with better pixel for pixel quality than an iPhone App without Retina Display support, seeing as the artwork is closer to the iPad resolution than a non retina display app. I hope you understand :)
 
My theory is this was done by Apple on purpose to put pressure on developers to make iPad versions of their apps.
 
If you're jailbroken, RetinaPad enables this - showing it's very much a deliberate limitation of Apple.
