Do shields/screen protectors take off oleophobic coating?

Its the first thing I do the second they come out of the box. Learned my lesson on my naked iphone4!

Exactly. So if you ever remove that film, the 0.5mm ring around the home button where the cutout was slightly larger than it had to be will be covered in fingerprints while the rest of the screen is clean. Kind of annoying, if you ask me. Of course, it's not a big deal if you never take the film off, so ...
