I'm not in the US, so mine will have a SIM slot which I don't need. US market is voluntold to forfeit the SIM slot, that means there's more room internally - is that just empty space? If so, shouldn't they get a bigger battery? Logistics be damned; this is a matter of principle - they give up something, they should get something. Leaving it as empty space is a slap in the face to them. Will be interested to see the teardown comparisons to see if they actually made use of that free space.

I would bet a large amount of money there will be no change among all versions sold.

Nope, Apple's safety datasheet confirms the battery is the same size everywhere.

Removal of the SIM slot helps contribute to improving Apple's bottom line.

No. It'd be inefficient for Apple to have to deal with different batteries for all the different types of phones. It'd also complicate the repair process so that the correct battery is used...then they'd need to stock all those batteries too. We'd be talking at least 12 different batteries. (Four for the the SIM-less phones, four for the the 'regular' ones, and four for the dual SIM card slot phones found in China.)

Will be interesting to see if it is truly empty space there. I doubt it...I'm assuming there's still a logic board needed for other chips and things whether the SIM card reader is there or not. This also goes back to the previous point, I don't think they'd have a space optimized logic board for all the different regions.

BTW, the battery in the 14PM is actually smaller than the one used in the 13PM. Supposedly it does last longer though.

Here's confirmation in case someone is looking for proof. All models have the same battery regardless of region.

No because then they would need a different battery and layout for us and non us models.
