I need a case that is slim but offers drop protection. I was leaning towards the Incase Slider but read reviews it cracks/breaks easily. Now I'm interested in snap cases. Do they offer drop protection and if so, do they crack/break easily?

Do snap on cases provide drop protection?

In my opinion, not really. I've cracked the front glass on at least 3 iphones while using the incase snap case. I still like it as my favorite case, if I have to use one. But I don't think it offers much drop protection. What I do think it does is protect the bezel during relatively light drops where your screen probably wasn't going to break anyway.
I alternate between going naked, and using my snap case. My bezel on my month old iPhone 5 is already scratched because I dropped the phone and put two big gashes in it. I wasn't using the case at that time. If I had been, I'd probably be happier right now
