Do something with a .TS file

I have got off my recordable tv HDD a film which is in a .ts file (this is different from video_TS files). The format plays in VLC media player, but i have no means of burning or converting it, as not even toast 8 seems to like it?

SO does anybody know of a way of either converting or burning this onto a dvd?

I'm sure either ffmpegX - http://homepage.mac.com/major4/ or MPEG Streamclip - http://www.squared5.com/ will do you just fine. Convert the .ts file (transport stream) into a standard mpeg2 file & then use this to create a DVD.
