Do spotlight searches match across devices

Hi just wanted to ask should spotlight searches match across devices or should they be independent. for example if I search on iOS spotlight search for "Tim Cook" and then do the same search on spotlight on the Mac should I see the same search results or will it vary depending on each device.


this is driving me nuts
