Do the cheap USB-C adapters work ok?

I just bought this and got it last night. It worked fine. It did heat up a bit. Will see how it performs over long term. If it breaks I will just return it.

I've tried a few of these now including a MoKo one - think they're likely all the same internally, though when using HDMI they've been totally unreliable. The MoKo one in particular made a horrific hissing noise when using HDMI - since changed to an Apple one as of course it's flawless.

Amazon have been really good with me for returning the faulty ones though.

before you buy the cheap usb-c dongle other than Apple's dongle, read this over first.

dont buy any dongle that has more than one usb type-A port. it does not work properly due to the power limit.
get Caldigit's usb-c charging dock for your little macbook if you want multiple usb ports.
