I'll be upgrading from a Unibody MacBook and one thing that has always bothered me is how it doesn't sit flush on my desk. It rocks back and forth slightly when typing depending on where my palms are resting.

Apple said it was within spec, and really I felt kind of silly bringing it in for such a minor issue, but since the new machine is going to be considerably more expensive I'm curious to hear about them.

That should not happen. The little black feet should have been replaced by Apple since it was not up to spec and it should not wobble on flat surface. You paid good money for the laptop and it should be perfect :)....so yes, the new one should be fine, and if it isn't take it back to Apple and shamelessly complain ;)
