do the new MBP/MBAs allow you to connect TWO external monitors? - in particular while using the internal laptop screen additionally.

thank you for any insights on this matter.
 
follow-up: it turns out that the RMBP officially supports two external screens. we are still not sure about the others of the old and the new MBA/Ps.
