Do Track Pads wear out?

It seems more and more like I have to do handstands on my 2013 13" Macbook Air's track pad to get a response. I find myself often having to press multiple times to get a single response. Have others had this problem?

Like everything else, things can wear out. Maybe switch to using tap to click until you get it repaired.

How sure are you that your battery is not swollen? My swollen battery started to affect the trackpad and sometimes caused missed clicks.

A swollen battery can definitely affect the trackpad, even slightly swollen.

Maybe switch to using tap to click

I didn't even know this was an option until a week ago. Best thing I have ever done. My wife thanked me too.
