This question is about both the white plastic and aluminum MacBooks:

Do USB ports on MacBooks have independent buses?

Pretty sure they're on the same "high speed bus"

There are two listed in system profiler, one for the iSight, and then the other which is for USB devices.

There's also then the two regular USB buses, one for the Keyboard/Trackpad/IR receiver, and the other for the Bluetooth controller

If you want to take a look, goto "About This Mac" under the Apple logo, then click more info, and click "USB" on the right hand pane.

Need to look at the block diagram for the Nvidia integrated North/South chipset.

Apple is using the ports Nvidia gave them, but no telling how that breaks down with regard to the number of buses until you go the the Nvidia documents.
