do video apps like Netflix and YouTube switch to 24fps for 24fps video?

Wondering if anyone knows about this: the Formula 1 channel plays videos as 50fps as opposed to 60fps, would the YouTube iPad app be able to switch to 50fps automatically for 50fps videos? Same with 24fps movies
 
Sure. The software/hardware that analyzes the frame rate can do so at a per-pixel level.
