Hey, I foolishly updated my iPhone 4S to 5.1.1, assuming I would never jailbreak my device. Well the time and craving to has come and I was wondering if we have any sort of time frame for a 5.1.1 jailbreak. Or maybe the folks working at it will wait until a bigger iOS version?

That could mean the next jailbreak will also work on 5.1.1.

Provided he has his blobs and APTicket saved.

as always nobody has a ETA fallow @pod2g and @musclenerd on Twitter for the latest info. No matter how many threads we make asking won't make it come out any sooner.

Since you have been a member here since Dec, 2010, please indicate a past jailbreak where there's been an ETA.

Pod2G said the upcomming JB works perfect on a 4S with 5.1.1.

I guess it's safe to upgrade to 5.1.1 from 5.1 now?

(Just in case Apple stops signing 5.1.1 for 5.1.2 for some reason?)

Or just hang tight and keep my BLOBS saved?

BTW - does Tinyumbrella and Redsnow work ok on 5.1.1? (In case I need to downgrade back to 5.0.1?)

Thanks.

Just wait until it's official and there are write ups on it...

Would recommend to just stay where you are or at most iOS 5.1. If you go to the Apple iPhone forums, there are many many problems being posted for 5.1.1. iLounge also has a few posts about the release. :)

@pod2g: iPhone 4S iOS 5-1-1 confirmed to work perfect with the upcoming jailbreak

Soooooooooon! =D

+1

It's not like 5.1.1 or even 5.1 for that matter bring any real benefits. Sit tight. You don't want to upgrade only to realize you can't downgrade if there are issues or incompatibilities with 5.1.1 jaibreak

The latest Tinyumbrella works for 5.1.1. Have blobs saved for my two iPhones and two iPads (and APTickets).

Current redsn0w works for downgrading from 5.1.1 but obviously not for jailbreaking it.

These threads are funny and inevitable.

Wouldn't you think if there was an ETA it would come from pod2g or one of the devs them self...? And don't you think if there was an ETA it would be plastered all over the internet and it would be easily Googleable or on a sticky thread on every Mac/iPhone forum?

And who is dumb enough to give yourself a deadline on something you put out for free? I feel like it's the people w/o jobs always beating the "when's the new JB coming out" dead horse...

There should be more threads on guessing when it will come out than asking when it come out.

And I'm never sure how people accidentally upgrade, be more careful about it when there's not a more recent way to JB

I don't know if I would consider an Estimated Time of Arrival to be a deadline - but I do understand why they don't give public etas anymore. Just not worth the drama.

anyone really like 5.1 over 5.0? only thing i see useful is the photostream individual delete option.

im currently on 5.0.1 jb with 4S, and happy. but now that i will be able to goto jb 5.1...wanna know anything cool?
