Do we still need to dedicate room for free space on the SSD?

I know before it was always suggested that you leave a certain percentage of free space on the SSD in order for it to run better. For example, not going above 90-100 used on a 128GB. I ordered the 256 on my Air.

Is this still suggested? If so, what's the most I should be using? I know the SSDs are slightly different this time around.
