I’ve done it before, and did it again during the night.

I think it’s because I haven’t been wearing my watch to bed, and my body isn’t used to it.

I checked it over in this morning, and there’s no damage.

Strange one!

I don't wear my watch to bed either. I tried to, and my skin started to itch after a while, and I think it's just better to let my wrist breathe when I am not at work. Could be the choice of bands (I just use the nike sport band, and I do sweat a ton at work), and I don't feel like springing for a nylon loop when I am at home.

Didn't you mention in an earlier post that you are coming off Ativan? Not sure where you are in that journey, but vivid nightmares and sleep disturbances (that could cause you to claw at your watch) are a common feature of benzodiazepine withdrawal.
