Do you use your iPod Touch when jogging or at the gym?

Or do you have 2 ipods, the other being the shuffle?

I'm concerned if i should get rid of my shuffle now that i have my new 16gb touch...but want to ask for opinions here regarding.

I use mine on the treadmill at the gym. The treadmill has a nice shelf that lets my iPod touch sit up and I can watch a video or watch the coverflow.
I then stick it in my pocket and listed to music while I hit the weight machines.

I have two ipods, 1g touch, and a 2g nano. I use the nano with nike+ when Im running or if I go to the gym. Im absolutely terrified in using my touch anywhere that it could be dropped or smashed. I realize the 2g touch has built in nike+ but I would rather spend buy an older or even one of the new nanos to workout with.

I used to use a shuffle while working but slowly shifted over to just using the touch, I'm used to the size and it's just less hassle to stick with one ipod

Excercising with hte iPod

:apple:I just bought an iPod Touch and expecting to receive it this Friday 09/26. I also have an iPod 5th Generation. :)I'll be purchasing an arm band from apple.com for my iPod 5th Generation and using it when I go to the gym:apple:

horrible story, first day i had touch 2g decided to go bike riding, and my buds came off while riding downhill, lots of wind, so i forgot to hook em around my ears. Then my buds got caught in bike tire and got shredded to nothing. my touch was fine I slammed on the brakes but was too slow to save ear buds. So I havent worked out with it since. thinking of getting a used shuffle or nano. Ive now got skull candy ink'd ear buds.

Same thing happened to me! The one day I decided to ride a bike.

I HATE The sound quality in those earbuds, it was the design that seduced me :(

Good looking exercise case about to come out

It looks like Griffin has just released an armband case that fits the 2G Touch. Looks like fairly good quality (although it seems to feature a crappy-looking plastic screen cover); the case detaches from the armband. Pics available here:

I was surprised to find when I bought my Touch last week that the Apple store had no cases that would fit the [relatively] new unit. (SEriously? They make a big deal out of adding the Nike+ built in, but don't give you a way to carry it along? The clerk at the store suggested, jokingly, to just buy an iSock and apply duct tape to arm.) (This isn't the only problem I've had with finding accessories for my new device -- there still isn't a [non-FM] car transmitter available for the new Touch or iPhone 3G either. Guess these are just typical problems of early adoption.)

don't seem to enthusiastic about isn't my touch when jogging around the neighborhood. It not a bad neighborhood just I like to go jogging really late at night you know?

I run with my 2nd gen with a 1st gen DLO Action Jacket. I barely notice it there. I am extremely pleased.

You can get the DLO Action Jacket for cheap as an outlet item at Best Buy, since it is made for a 1st gen. It fits the 2nd gen perfectly.

yesterday i though it would be fun to take the touch on the treadmill with me to chat and write emails... it wasn't as easy as i though it would be... try typing on that thing while simultaneously at max program speed and incline and breathing... ha... not a good mix... thank god for auto spell check though...

it's ok during warm up and cool down though...

I haven't exercised with my iPod yet; a week and a half ago, I was runnng with my cell phone in my pocket (It's a razr, by the way) and the outer screen cracked in what is a pretty cool lighting/trident-ish shape. The glass on the camera also cracked, which was surprising given the small amount of glass. The cell phone still works fine, including the screen and camera. Anyways, since then, I have been terrified of taking any expensive electronics out while exercising.

Not really.

I'm not a fan of armbands, so I can't really carry the touch with me. Plus, you have to look at the screen to control it, so I can't run and change songs at the same time.

I run with my touch in my hands sometimes. I really wish that nike+ worked with the 1st gen touches. I'm almost considering picking up a nano just for that reason.

I guess that means you can't walk and chew gum at the same time either. :p

I was just at the Apple Store today looking for a 2G iTouch armband and the Nike+ sensor. Both items were unavailable.

I ended up purchasing an Incase armband for the 1G iTouch (~$35), which seems to fit well, although I hate the plastic screen. It sticks to the glass on the iTouch and makes it really difficult to remove.

I ordered the Nike+ sensor the on-line Apple store and am expecting delivery in a few days.

I run in New Balance 1300s, so I also purchased a Marware Nike+ sensor pouch to attach to my shoelaces. I'm pretty psyched about using Nike+ on my runs. I'm not too concerned about dropping it, as the armband seems to be fine. I took it on a practice run today (only a mile or so) and it didn't slip down my arm once.
