In comparison with laptops running Windows, I feel as if Mac default color profiles have more of a yellowish/greenish/sepia tint to them while Windows has more of a blue tint. I've tested both my MacBook Pro and my iMac and I was wondering whether this was just purposely done by Apple?

It's done by Apple.
Try unchecking "Show profiles for this display only" and set it to one of the shown calibrations.
I found the Apple RGB color space the most apt for me.

Apple RGB seems so blue though...
