I'm prepared to be called crazy here. But hear me out..

I find when using a laptop or desktop, I've cleared a space on the table and am much more 'sucked into' what I'm doing on it compared to the iPad. So if somebody starts talking I'm quick to say 'hang on, just reading something here' and if I'm asked to do something it's always 'In a while'.. There's almost a higher level of involvement in sitting down to a full desktop OS and form factor device.

Whereas, when I use the iPad and Bluetooth keyboard around the house I seem to be able to disengage from what I'm doing much more and be more human and responsive! And if I'm asked to do something, just fold over its case and my app is ready and waiting for me again. I think it's down to the instant on nature of the apps as opposed to the opening up, waiting for the laptop to resume, logging in, and seconds of delay.. I can also take it with me under my shoulder and move places much easier as I'm not tethered to the wall with a charger. It can be set down on many more surfaces and if it should drop, I feel much more robust in avoiding a shattered screen than a delicate but larger laptop screen panel.

This is one of the big reasons I've decided to go iPad only. It's more life friendly in the sense that it takes away the draw to the computer as I can be a better person to those around me. Essentially because it's instant on, battery lasts all day, can be taken and used in more places.

Am I just a douche when I use the laptop or do any of you notice the same sort of improvement in how you use the iPad vs. A laptop/desktop towards other things in life happening around you? `
