I recently ordered a MacBook Air and I selected for it to be shipped to a nearby Apple store rather than my home. My question is, will I get a tracking number or is this only if you select to have it shipped to your home? I ask this because my order status changed to "shipping to store" (the stage after "shipped”) about 24 hours ago, but I have still not received a Shipment notification email or a tracking number. Thoughts?

I'm in the US by the way.

you dont get it. Its not your responsibility to track since still its under Apple's care.

Ideally it will be show up 3-4 days earlier than the expected date you selected to deliver!

Enjoy! :D

I don't think you get one.

I ordered a MBA on 7-30 (my first Mac in 10+ years!) and it gave me a pickup date at my local Apple store of August 8. I received an email at noon yesterday saying it was ready for pickup. If only I was in town!

Hopefully you have a similar experience, good luck!

I believe you guys when you say that you don't get a tracking number...but why not? I'd be interested to see where my package is at....Anyways I doubt it requires any more work on Apple's part to show the tracking info.

Why do you want it shipped to the apple store? There's very little convenience in that...

I placed my order on August 3 and selected store pickup. Right now, it's Preparing for Shipment.

If you mouse over for more info, I doubt Apple will give you a tracking number.

I don't know about the OP, but I travel for work so it is much more convenient for me to have it waiting at the Apple Store whenever I'm ready to pick it up. I don't want to have to deal with UPS/FEDEX/etc and trying to time the shipment - it's not worth the hassle to me. I also live 5 miles from an Apple store - so that helps!

Mine went from preparing to ship to ready to pick up.
Several days earlier than the estimate I might add!

I too did the samething.. since Apple Mac requires sign-on delivery by the person who ordered. We need to at home when that Fedex trucks comes or rather go and pickup at store whenever you have free time! :)

THere's also the optino to pre-sign for delivery.
