Okay so I'm asking this question because I have a total lack of patience. I'm a college student and next Friday I have work. Basically I have to come home, drop off my stuff, and go to work. I know the iPhone will already be there waiting for me, but I'm not going to have time to activate it on my computer. I simply cannot have the phone in my possession for 7 hours without being able to use it (my aformentioned impatience lol).

So I know iOS 5 has a new feature where you can set up a device without connecting to a computer. However I'll be doing this at work, with no Wi-Fi. So my question, does the phone give you "free" 3G access to set up the phone with? Kind of like how on the iPad you can use 3G to buy more 3G. Thanks!

It doesn't take 60 seconds to activate, do it as you pass through.
