I see they are being sold more and more. Do you bother especially with the big lenses of the 12?

Years ago I tried the little circles that cover the lens and just couldn't get them to stay on, no matter what I tried. Nowadays they make them with a plate looking thing that covers the entire camera setup, but I have no idea how well they work. I just use a case that's thicker than the camera array protrudes.

I’ve never used one. If damaging your lense is a real concern I can see the need, but I think the sapphire(on iPhones anyway) holds up better than the screens and I would be forever wondering if photo quality was being compromised by the protector.

I do, but only for aesthetic.
You can buy an aluminium lens protector in blue color in order to match with your iPhone 12 Blue as an example
I choose silver for my iPhone 12 Mini White
It exists in many colors, i have bought for couple bucks, it really dont care about protection, it looks really cool although its quite subjective tho
Do not use entire lens protector that covers also lens protector itself, you may degrade camera image quality (there are some related YT reviews)
As i said, its only for aesthetic and it would sightly provide some protection against scratch, not against drop!

I’ve used the Zagg’s without any issue. When/if they go bad, just ask for a warranty replacement.

Curious,
- Does it leaves residue when removed?
- Does it creates vignetting around the picture frame?

I think it can be pretty cool looking when using contrasty colors between the cover and the iPhone itself.
Like those on the Galaxy S21. Subjective of course, but I kinda dig it.
MKBHD photoshoped a black S21 with gold/yellow camera frame on his YouTube hands on, and it looks cool!

I have tried skin and a glass one, but they all lower the quality of the lenses to some degree. Plus, they mess with the flash. When I would take a photo with the flash on, they would turn out blue and weird.

I've had 6s and Xs Max since launch day, and without any special care, I don't have a single scratch on the camera lenses. Even if Apple's "sapphire coating" is bs, I do find they're more resistant to scratches.

I dont think it will leave residue, i did not remove it yet but the adhesive is not that strong at all
Some review said its slippery and can be removed by itself quite easily but it holds firmly in my case, it never drops
The camera picture quality seems to be similar, i did not notice any difference but i am kinda noob when it comes about photography
It cost almost nothing like 2$, it worth a shot if i was you

Being sold more and more doesn’t mean you should buy them. Any of these 3rd party accessories makers will try to make money on any piece of crap they can sell. Dirt cheap to make in China. Ive seen those stickers that go on the airpods charging case to protest dust. For example what is the point of this item? You might damage the case in the long term after removing sticker with glue left on the hinge.
