Just wondering for those who have the retina macbook pro what size they went with.

13". I came from an 11" MacBook Air, so the 15", while appealing because of the quad-core processor and discrete GPU, it would have been a bit too much of a change.

I had a 2010 MBP and it just died conked out on me. Apple Store tried and failed to fix it so they decided to give me a brand new machine, I paid the difference between the equivalent new one of the standard MBP 15 and the rMBP that I wanted. Super happy.

13". Mine is essentially a blogging and partial web design machine. In other words, a glorified typewriter. But I wanted smooth text. Love it.

What happened to the 15" MBP? Thats awesome.

I got the 13" w/ i7. I love the discrete graphics and the 256 GB standard SSD of the 15", but it was just too big and heavy for me. I'm coming from a 13" 3 lb. Dell XPS ultrabook. I commute 4 hours a day on a train and I need good and small. I don't game.

15" rMBP for me.

Mostly because the 13" rMBP wasn't out when I bought my laptop :p

Seriously I was tired of the 13" form factor and wanted a 15" laptop, the fact that apple came out with a retina based display was just icing on the cake. I was waiting months for the Ivy Bridge based laptops to be released.

Before Christmas it was freezing up and having some weird screen glitches (GPU like panics). Wouldn't start up sometimes, RAM beep codes, the works. Got it backed up and got through exams at school. Took it in and they were able to replicate the issues, decided to replace the logic board and then tried replacing the screen since the errors were persisting so they just declared it end of life. They had literally replaced every part other than my third party brand new SSD. I win.

13-inch for me (having come from a 2009 15-inch). It sits on my desk with a 24-inch BenQ monitor, Magic Mouse (and Im currently looking for some external storage).

Why? Because £1449 was the limit on what I was willing to spend - Would have loved the 15-inch, but didnt want to spend that much.

Sorry OP, but...

considering that the 13" and 15" have been on the market for a different duration, this poll (or more precisely, its results) are really not that informative.

RGDS,
