I'm buying my new 3gs tomorrow from the Glasgow apple store going to stick my pay monthly sim in, do I have to buy a £10 top up?

Nope. The guy just came out with the phone and the sim and said : "We have to "sell" you this simcard. It doesn't cost you anything, it's quite good really you can put £10 on it and you get free web for a year."

Great service from Apple as always.

o2 regent street charged me £10 top up.

even though i made it clear i was just buying the PAYG 32GB 3GS so i could put my 3G contract o2 sim in.

used the credit on the payg sim whilst on holiday in spain so its all good.

That's unfortunate. I bought my 32GB at the Apple store Regent Street on launch day and the supervisor was going around telling all the assistants that people swapping their contract SIMs in should definitely not be made to buy the £10 top up.

The OP should definitely make sure he gets his from the Glasgow Apple store.

I was told, in the Regents Street store a couple of weeks a go, that if you had a contract you didnt have to pay the £10 . Was told the same thing at Brent cross, where I bought my phone.
