My guess is it may be related with the shift from x86 to ARM. And apple may want to optimize the OS and its apps by rewriting all their codes from ground.

Any thought?
 
I believe not that many considering how many were introduced back when I switched from 10.4->10.5 - or so I seem to recll.

What do you mean about the move from x86 to ARM? Macs aren't ARM.

I think he meant back in the old days, although what miles says is basically the answer a new operating system will always have bugs deal with it or wait...
