I got a new MacBook Pro last week and I'm pretty paranoid about bending the chassis for some reason! I have a habit of lifting laptops with one hand and plastic seems bendier and to have more memory than aluminium...

Any insight?

I do all the time but the chance of dropping it is 50% greater . Also, I have heard of one or two people bending down the chassis over the ethernet and firewire 800 ports which are particularly thin.

Usually I hold it under my arm, by my side, like a box or something.

I do it all the time. Sometimes I close the lid and balance on a corner with two fingers…

I lift mine like that all the time, a 13" MBP.. There's no way in h*ll that it would bend from that. I don't know about the 15/17", but can't imagine they would either. The aluminum casing is really sturdy.

I tend to just lift it from like the large expansive area to the right of the trackpad.

You know what it's like with new stuff though.. Just stupid paranoia I guess :D
