Randy's House
If not, what's keeping you there and what don't you like about your current location?

Where would you move if you had the choice?

I've lived in Seattle for 17 years and I'm tired of it. I graduate in June and I'm moving to California in July or August.

I love the northwest, but I'm tired of the rain and I need a change of scenery. Who knows, maybe I'll be back in 10 years.

edit:
The second bit of your question is an interesting one - I'd love to try living any number of places. I've spent so little time on the east coast that I definitely want to explore it soon (I've only been to NY and joysey, not counting airports :p).

lived in the sam place since i was born, love it but would head out west at any chance i got. money is the only thing keeping me here

I went from D.C. (too f'n crowded) to Morgantown, W.V. for college (not enough to do). I honestly need to find a medium. I graduate in May and will be blanketing my resume all over the States, preferably where it doesn't get too cold. Top choices now are Scottsdale, San Diego, Charlotte and Tampa. Any suggestions for a Communication Studies/Advertising major starting out? I'm worried about getting too caught up in my first job trying to climb the ladder and forgetting about the fact that I need to meet women and potentially get married. I've been a workaholic since I can remember.

I absolutely love my town, and I plan on staying here for the rest of my life. :)

Funny, because regardless of how much I love a city, I'm always willing to move. Just because you're happy now, doesn't mean you find yourself being happier. Some people never go anywhere and insist that the place they live is perfect. I'm from Toronto, and it really is a world class city. I heard that it was growing up, but I didn't realize the extent of its awesomeness until now.

I like the Bay Area but for as many things I like about the area there are almost as many concerns. Family, weather and lots of things to do are the positives but the cost of living and an aspect that I won't get into are pretty big negatives. Whats keeping me here is my job and school.

After spending the majority of my life in California and five years in NY, some place quieter and slower would be nice. I enjoyed my time in San Diego last year as well as other parts of the less-populated Bay Area.

In three years, I'm likely to make another move.

Toronto! I spent a week up there with a friend from school and I loved it!

I've been fortunate to live in different places around the world, and visit many others. Japan has seemed a good fit for quite a while.

There is a saying in the military, that your home is where you hang your hat. There is a lot of truth to that.

Sometimes I think of moving to the Midwest (US) and enjoy the wide open spaces.

Who knows?

I hate where I live... My family is dysfunctional and I just can't be myself...

Reason why I can't leave is lack of money and a crappy car... Lack of education, working on that :D

Umm, where would I like to be? I do not know yet, personally far out of Florida.

I like the area I live in sometimes, although it's getting crappier and crappier, as Detroit's scum infiltrates the nicer suburban communities.

I'm still working, and going to college, living with the rents until I'm done with college. Soon, I'll be through the police academy and able to move away.

My girlfriend and I are considering Alaska, but it's really up in the air. We may just move to the west side of Michigan, where there is less crap going on.

I like where I live except for the people and the lack of things to do.

And the humidity.... oh god the humidity. Not a patch on Singapore but there we were always indoors with A/C's blasting. Here it's just bad.

Well I am in Toronto right now so I can't complain. I like it here, but at the moment with family issues (mom isn't well - late stages of cancer) I haven't been able to enjoy it as much as I would like (I'm in college). I hate the Canadian weather (its freezing and snows too much)!
I have been fortunate enough to travel the world and lived in Pakistan and Dubai.
If I could move anywhere it would be Los Angeles or San Fransisco. But when I am done college (2 years from now) I will be going to Dubai. Love the city (especially the weather), but its so fake and everyone is so materialistic! I'm a girl and I just don't get how people can care so much about the new LV or Gucci bags that go for $2,000+! Lol okay I'll stop before I get carried away.

Californiaaaaaa, here I come (in my dreams) ;)

I love Colorado. I moved here from Florida in 2005. I lived in Florida all my life until I moved here, I'm 42 now.

Warning, longish post ahead!

Big thoughts, eh, Gary? :)

There's nothing wrong w/ the Bay Area, CA. In fact, I quite like a lot of what this region has to offer. Gorgeous mountains, gorgeous coast. Gorgeous desert. Gorgeous sequoias. A vast ethnic makeup with folks from all sorts of backgrounds and heritages. And with that? An abundance of superb and varied foods. *swoons* But, I was born 'n' raised here and I'm really feeling the urge to leave. Probably not forever, but definitely for a good bit.

What about this area don't I like? It has a reputation for being liberal, but when it comes down to it, a lot of folks I seem to meet and interact with? Aren't truly liberal at all. So I guess, for me, the drawback to "here" are the people I've grown up with, the same people I see, the people I tend to "meet" are still cut from the same cloth. I didn't get along so well with them all growing up, and I don't see that changing any time soon. :)

So I'd like to move. To the Boston area. And I have other motivation as well. Perhaps a new chapter to my life, perhaps a new beginning-- with someone special.

What's holding me back? Mainly money. Been job-hunting and sending out applications and resumés since February this year. It's hard to move much less move x-country w/out money. :p

I love living in Seattle and enjoy the rain. It is always great to have a nice clear day to see all the mountains though.

I like it and it feels like home. If I had my way I'd probably move closer into the city (I'm on the outskirts of London) but I'm not bothered about being here.

My only real complaints are the weather and the cost of living. Neither are enough to make me seriously want to move.

If I had to choose one place to live I might pick somewhere in New Zealand. I've never been there but it seems like an awesome place. I think e and I could definitely get our chiiiiiill on there.

Eck.

Maui is boring. There is absolutely nothing to do. Heres a typical conversation with a friend...

"What ya wanna do this weekend?"
"I dunno........ Movie?"
"Sure."

I wouldnt be as bad if I could walk/bike to places, but I cant. *sigh* Complete reliance on parents.

I would move in an instant, to a place that has more stuff to do. I do love Orange County......

Except for... Being 14, all my friends, parents, and school.

Gold Coast, Australia.

Lived here my my whole life, of 18 years.

It has great beaches, great people, it's spread out and can't beat the weather.
It's 1 Hours drive from the capital (Brisbane) & cheap/quick flights to Syd/Melb.
The only down fall would be public transport, and the lack of a cold winter (i like the snow).

If i were to move:
Melbourne, Australia.

I want the bay area bad, but I dont want to lose my small town feel like I have here in good ol Katy, Tx maybe danville or pleasonton but still really freaking expensive for a cop.
